Hello all...

I have a question:
2 of our friends are tagging along with us to nyc in September, as we are flying UC we can guest them into the CH.
Today another friend said she wanted come with us. if she comes that would make 3 flying Y and 2 flying J.
Me and Simon are both AU, will we be able to guest the 3rd person using our gold status and the other 2 can be guested as we're flying upper?
Thank you in advance.

I suspect not, alas. Otherwise Au members flying UC would - in effect - always be able to guest-in two extra pax.

But does flying UC automatically entail the ability to invite a guest into the CH on the same flight anyway? I think that perk is only for Au.

There's probably some legalese somewhere putting it all in writing...

Anyone flying in UC* can take a guest into the CH it is not an AU only perk

* exception being people getting an op-up at check-in when they don't even get CH access.

But to answer the OPs question it is one guest in total and not one for being AU and one for being in UC

Top-tip, thanks, tontybear. Presumably the same rules apply as Au, that the guest pax must be on the same flight?

Yes.

I think you can invite someone if your flying upper and on the same flight, we offer lounge invites when we post our itineraries and not everyone is AU.
I didn't think I could guest a 3rd, just hope she doesn't come as one person would be out in the cold...unless they paid...or flew upper.

p.s. As there is for the Au CH guest regulation, is there anywhere on the VS website which details the rules for UC pax guest access to the CH?

One in, one out...

NO.

It is one guest not one guest at a time.

If I was a gentleman I would give up my spot and sit in the departures area so my friends can enjoy all the CH has to offer.

Unfortunatly for her I'm not a gentleman and luckily my friends love me for the evil cow that I am!!! ;)

Ask if the 3rd person can pay to enter

Is the CH single guest access of UC passengers actual policy (if so, is it written down somewhere?) or custom?

If it's a custom, perhaps there might be some leeway. It's probably worth a try anyway, Ultreen, and then - yes - as HL suggests, try getting your wallet out!

Paying may no longer be an option now that the CH is busier following the DL flight moves to T3.

And looking at the VH site I can't see any option to buy CH access now which they used to have.

If she does decide to come with us I'll ask nicely, it might work. If that fails get the card out and pay.
The guest list wont work as we live in Wales, they wanted £280 and 17000 miles each way when I enquired a few weeks back. That was just for the limo service.
Thanks for all the replies tho.

We have used the Guest List and it was cash only- we didn't need miles (at that time we didn't have any!). The prices have not changes from what I see on the website. We had UC check-in, fast track security and CH access and used the limo at the arrivals end raher than in UK as we too live out west.

It is still advertised at £240 for all the above for one person. If your friends each paid £80 that would get the access you needed, and maybe you could all share the car at the other end (if you took no luggage ): ).

It looks like the £240 + 17k miles Ultreen quotes is the standard CDC rate for people on a G fare plus the excess miles over the included distance of 75 miles

That won't work as per this

vii) Only passengers who have purchased a Guest List package are eligible to use the Chauffeur driven cars

Could a party of 2 adults and two children travelling UC sign in 2 or 4 guests on the same flight?.....happy to offer on our up coming Antigua flight.

It's got even more complicated...another friend is considering tagging along now!! I can only guest 2 ppl but I like the idea of splitting the cost between the 4 or 3...but on a plus note a virgin crew friend we made in Miami fancies a break in NYC when we're there! That could help out.
I bet everyone cancels and it'll just be me and Simon! Time will tell.
