Travel cube recommendations?

I find the large too large, but have one. The slim and small are my preference. Generally I take one small, one medium, one large and 3 slim ebags on a trip. i would like the shoe bags but have not found any in the UK.

Yes he did - in both directions !

Ôur last trip, two adults and a teenager (a whole 30kg on his own) we managed to use two suitcases because of cubes. The beauty (outward) was that as we checked in, him in his own room, I chucked his cubes at him. On return, if it didn't fit it didn't come home! It did of course and the orange ones I had given him were quarantined before ours hit the washing machine

Another plus I notuced in the past with my obsession is when TSA decide they fancy a rummage through your luggage they don't bother rummaging through packing cubes

I've just looked at that and feel a John McEnroe moment coming on! Looks, measures and reads as though it will hold maybe enough for Barbie. Or maybe I just pack too much

I have an impressive (sad? YMMV) collection of quite good-looking, large & small cosmetic bags from Lancome/Lauder/Elemis, from being a skincare/cosmetic junkie for more years than I care to remember and use a variety of these to hold nail stuff, make-up, skincare, etc.

Am about to buy yet more packing cubes, maybe Amazon will have sold out after a rush from V-Flyers.

And have you read that mad (to me anyway) website by that guy who insists anyone can manage perfectly well with ONE carry-on, no matter how long they are away? Is he insane? I can't manage with just a carry-on for a weekend!

I had a friend in Sacramento who insisted on the same thing and in fact did packing classes! She was also featured on local TV and showed me the video of it. It was hilarious. She emphasised the need for colour co-ordination but when I looked at it everything was beige!!

What are these things, and why should I want one...

In the land of hang luggage only at the moment, considering that 22 pocket overcoat, and a foldable hold luggage (for taking stuff over but not getting charged for luggage in the hold for taking empty one back).

Got a goodly selection of these the other day, they seem quite tough and should do the job.

For me, the big attraction is the ability to pack clothing types together, or a given set of clothes for a specific situation in such a way that you can just grab the packing cube out of your case and place in hotel room cupboards/drawers.

Basically, it reduces the need to sort through jumbled clothing etc in a case to find specific items and makes unpacking and repacking a great deal easier.

Furthermore, if you have multiple travellers (a family holiday for example), because the cubes have good colouring, it is a breeze to identify who's clothing is where in the cases.

When re-packing, you just pick up the cubes with what's left in them, plus the laundry bag and you're done. Because the cubes are "squishy", space is not an issue.

At least, that's my take on them!!!

I need a cube/bag for swimming trunks? can you get that kind of thing? I mean if you go swimming at a hotel but then have to move on the next day you will have slightly damp clothing?

We use them, wouldn't be without them. I have different colours for each of us, so it's easy to spot what belongs with who.
