Undecided on 747-400 LGW on our normal 10 and 9A or 6A and 6K. We've never done the very front, mostly because I eat and drink all the way and he watches films. :o)

I know it's a first world problem, but it's giving me a headache. :(!

Votes please.

I've not flown on the LGW 747s in UC but have a few times on the LHR ones , for me personally I don't like too many eyes on me so I always tend to sit up the back of the A zone ,so my vote would be for 9/10 A

Like Blacky, I've never flown LGW. On LHR 747, I always prefer slightly back from the very front, don't like the idea of bulkhead right in front, bit less claustrophobic for me a little further back. Do the front seats on LGW config lack overhead bins as they do on LHR config? Yes I know you don't 'own' the bin above your seat, but it's a lot less hassle to me if I've got one above me.

On a night flight we always go for 6a and K. It just means that no one walks past you and you get the best possible rest. On day flights however we prefer 8a and K, it gives us a feeling of more space. That's just our preference but as you infer - either way it's not a bad choice to make!

It is a day flight and now I really can't decide.

We don't normally chat, we've been married long enough that we don't need much more than facial expressions!........but I did think the front might be fun....perhaps I should go back to the old faithful and be off the plane first. Mind you, last time we did that this summer, 'he' forgot to do the immigration forms and we stood at the back of the queue!

Something else to consider is that row 6 has no over-head storage space.

6a and k on a LGW 747, only downside is it's all eyes on you as your right up front. The further back you go the closer to the bar!

Am we alone in liking 9A & 10A?! Much closer together.

6A and K. You're not in anyone's way if you want to sit on the ottoman to share dining and a chat. The lack of an overhead bin is rarely an issue as we only take minimal hand luggage. And, to be honest, a bit of the "Made it ma, top of the world!" feeling as you get to your destination before even the flight deck.

I agree. I've done it once and have those seats booked for my upcoming trip.
The only downside is no overhead locker, but Cabin Crew will sort out your bags if you are not on first.
The big upside is no one comes past you. If there are just two of you it is very cosy.

Another thumbs up for 6a and K when travelling with a partner, I did this to mexico and it was nice to be out of peoples way, close enough to hold a conversation across the seats and also first choice on menu, on our flight back even some of the UC had to go without some of the options!

Yes, 6AK have always been our favourites.

Having travelled a few times UC on LGW 747 my vote goes to 6a & 6k when travelling with Mrs T. Although as others have said there's no locker above these seats.

I've changed it twice in the last 24 hours.

I can't believe I'm making such a meal out of this.

Thank you all for your comments, but next time, can you all get together and give me the same answer. v(

Yep, another (belated) vote for 6A/K, AKA 'the snuggle zone' in our household. Those seats already requested for forthcoming flight to MCO.... :D :D

6A and K are probably the best positioned on the 747-400s, but I suspect also run the bigest risk of being over-ridden by celebs, Uniqs or friends of VS cabin crew.

So, 6A/K are (in my mind) the better seats, but with an increased risk of you being moved to "any old seat" (again, in my opinion).

Safe option would be 9A/10A - oh dear, what a stress it all is!!

If you are traveling with someone then 6A and 6K are fine, as your feet are very close together, unless of course you want to play footsie with strangers :)
I book it for a night flight anyway as it is quieter and darker. However the downside of those two seats is the lack of overhead lockers - if the people in rows 7 and 8 get on ahead of you, you might have to stow your things in one of the cupboards near the bar

No to 6a and 6k for me. Feels like flying sideways. Never thought it was that cosy either.
