Does anybody know what is going on with the MCO flights from MAN over last few days?. I notice that todays vs76 arrival is delayed until tomorrow but yesterdays aircraft is on vs16a and the gatwick aircraft on vs16b. The two aircraft are currently 1 behind the other approaching southern Ireland.

I think Thursday's VS75 was delayed overnight due to weather. 2 747s left yesterday from Manchester within minutes of each other, arriving at the same time as the VS15 from LGW.
Thursday's outward from Manchester was due to return to LGW, so that flight didn't happen. Hence 2 aircraft returning into LGW as VS16 now.

Thanks for that but I'm still confused as there doesn't appear to be a vs76 in to Manchester today so where did the third 747 go? Is it delayed until today as they didn 't have a third crew in Orlando? If so this seems an expense as they would incur overnight costs and why did they need two aircraft back to LGW.

I think it's VS73 rather than VS75 to Orlando today. G-VROS should have returned to Manchester this morning as it's not showing as delayed.

MAN airport was closed for some time on Thursday due to the bad weather. Guess airlines are still catching up.

I travelled inbound from MCO to MAN on VS76 on Thursday 29th so can add a bit of info..

Virgin staff at MCO told us that the outbound MAN to MCO flight (VS75) (Jersey Girl) was unable to leave MAN that day because of the weather. However, VS15 (Ruby Tuesday) from LGW did operate. So Virgin ended up with two flights due to leave Orlando (VS16 to LGW and VS76 to MAN), and only one plane. Fortunately for us they decided to operate VS76, and we returned, albeit delayed, as scheduled.

When we got back to MAN I could see two other Virgin 747s on stand (must have been Jersey Girl and English Rose), and so we had to park away from the terminal and get a bus across to immigration. I think that Jersey Girl and English Rose will have operated duplicate VS75s to MCO on Friday 30th, with Jersey Girl then returning to Gatwick as a duplicate VS16 taking the delayed passengers from the day before.

Ruby Tuesday then operated VS77 to BGI.

Hope this all makes sense.

Also, some days in "low season" outside of school holidays, i.e. now, Virgin only operate one Orlando flight from Manchester each day.

Historically, it was, I believe always the VS75 that operated daily. This Winter they seem to be alternating a bit between the VS75 & VS73 outbounds / VS76 & VS74 inbounds on the days they only operate one flight.

For instance, when we fly home in a couple of weeks time (which is actually in Feb half term) only the later VS74 is operating - which suits us, a couple of extra hours at Universal!

We were on the flight from MCO to MAN and were told the situation by one of the flight attendants. I can cope with a bit of turbulence and an hours delay but the handling of the situation when we arrived at MAN was a complete shambles. It took us two and a half hours from landing to getting in the car to go home.

There were definitely 3 arrivals showing at MCO on friday (75, 1075 and 15) but only 2 departures (the 16 we were on and a delayed 1016). There were a good few passengers on our flight who were being bussed up to MAN.

VS must be thanking goodness that this happened during a quiet period as it would undoubtedly have been much more of a nightmare if it had happened over the festive period.

The delayed 1016 apparently had a very light load too so I assume they had managed to make other arrangements for a few of the passengers on thursday.
