We are travelling to the hot and humid location that is Orlando, FL...

Would one be judged if wearing of a pair of (obviously good branded) shorts in UC for the flight? As I don't quite fancy wearing hot jeans on the plane anyway, let alone arrive there in them !?

Opinions welcomed :)

The plane isn't generally too hot and most buildings in Florida are pretty cold with air con.
Just wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. I personally dress for the departing airport and sort myself out at the other end.

Wear something comfortable. I must admit, I object to naked feet. I have my own plane socks. Can't stomach men's toenails..... :0

On my first ever VS flight, which was to JNB, there was a guy, well past the first flush of youth, in the departure lounge (it was before I hit the heady heights of UC) who wore a pair of shorts so short and tight, they left nothing to the imagination. :| It was horrendous!

I always dress for the destination. If it's hot and humid when we leave I'll wear shorts and flip flops but quickly put on the socks offered in the amenity pack...no #flyingfeet pics of me on passenger shaming thank you very much! :$
I had dried chicken poo on my shoes when we went to Vegas and only realised onboard! :0
No one takes any notice in my experience!

Thanks guys! Seems as though no one is too fussed then :)

Honey Lamb, I'm still only 23, so I have youth on my side, but even I won't be wearing shorts that are quite so short and revealingly tight! I'll stick with regular comfy looking ones ;)

We seen all sights from shorts and t shirts to suits to, and I kid you not, white suit, cumerband, fedora hat and silver topped cane :)

Its whatever's comfortable for you (but of course the above is more preferable ;) )

Didn't know we'd ever been in close proximity? :)

Please assure me that's socks instead of flip flops, and not as well as....

My experience is that this happens most of the time on the night flights. The bar is cleared and if you want another drink you have to track down whoever is awake and get them to pour some.

There seems to be some sort of rule where passengers are not allowed to pour their own alcohol or something, though sometimes they do leave the bottles at the bar anyway. Happens more on day flights.

Compare this to the club kitchen, where the flight attendant just pointed to the bottles when I went and asked...

Thank you for that Jonathan! That's a very helpful response, and I hope our trip goes just as well !

The bar doesn't look to comfortable, and as you mentioned, I can't personally see a reason why someone would choose a small bar stool in the middle of a small cabin, over a big comfy leather seat/bed!

Will you be doing a trip report on this/these flight(s) ?

J

Well, if we have to explain it to you.......... :)

By the end of a flight the toilets can be quite, um, how shall I put this, suffering the aftereffects of the (male, I assume) more directionally-challenged pax. It's all the fault of the UC bar, I was once reliably informed by one CC when I pointed out the minor deluge which greeted me upon opening the door to the loo.

Which is one thing I shall miss from the demise of the NRT route: for whatever reason, that route had the most impeccably clean lavs in the VS fleet!

Really? I few NRT twice and one time it ran out of hot tap water. :(

Both ways there was no problem at all with people at the bar. My wife and I sat there for 10 minutes outbound nursing a cocktail, but I have to say the seats are pretty uncomfortable with limited knee room. I think you would need to be a hardened social drinker to want to spend too much time perched there when you have a comfortable recliner/bed available.

But that's what's like in regular economy. :/
