Hyatt Gold Passport & VS FC

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Tokyo last year and prior to travel I was under the impression that we'd receive our Gold Passport points, plus 750 VS FC miles for our stay. Upon check out the lady at reception told us that we could either get the VS miles OR the Hyatt points credit to our account, not both, and we opted for the Hyatt points as they were a much higher value for a 10 night stay. Was this correct, or should we also have been credited for the 750 FC miles? I ask because we're heading there again next week and I don't want to miss out.

Yes she was correct it is either not both.

Also the VS miles are per stay not per night.

Ah, that's a shame! I knew it was only 750 FC for the stay, but I think I was getting confused with Hilton who let you earn both, IIRC. Thanks so much, we'll definitely stick to the Hyatt points for this one

Just digging this up again as I have another query! We have quite a few Hyatt points, but I'm thinking of transferring them all to my OH's FC account as we're not looking to book any Hyatt hotels any time soon (and the FC miles will be far more useful to us as we have a booking to make fairly soon). I did the minimum transfer of 5,000 points (equates to 3,000 FC miles) just to make sure it all goes through fine before transferring the rest. Does anyone have experience with how long it takes to credit? It says takes UP to 4-6 weeks. I'm not in a dire rush, but sooner is better than later...

I'm answering my own question, I figured if anyone else has this query in future and they do a search, it might be useful.

I transferred 5,000 points (equal to 3,000 FC miles) on 2nd February, and they cleared today, the 10th February. They were backdated to the second, but it took just over a week. I just transferred the remaining bulk of the points (which ends up being around 18,000 FC miles) so hopefully they'll be in the account soon. Hopefully the larger amount won't take longer to process.
