If I buy a K and then change to an S and then upgrade using miles to a G, I get the tier points for the S fare, right?

Yes, the TPs relate to the paid fare code, not the upgrade.

Thanks. I'll give them a nudge if they don't appear a few days after my return flight

100% of the time I've had to phone up FC after the flight to get miles and TPs to post on an M-to-G or S-to-G upgrade.

It's because the default for G in the IT system is as a full-reward ticket (earning neither miles nor TPs).

Me too... it is annoying that they haven't fixed this yet. I wonder how many miles and TPs they get away with not awarding people who don't know to call up to have the missing miles added n(

Snap!

I don't even wait to see. I send an email with the underlying fare code and it takes (for me at least) about 8 days to get the miles and TP

Check in will tell you that sometimes the system picks up the underlying fare - nope, nada, never

I always have to 'phone when I have uprgaded to a G from an M or S. I did so this week following my return from MIA the week previously. I was able to do Mr R-P's as well as I have authorisation on his account, always useful :w

Just to confirm that the IT glitch on points and miles awards are still there.
I have had to contact flying club this week, as no tier points or miles credited for flights in June which were upgrades. Agent confirmed that their IT were aware of the problem and were looking to fix it.......
