Hi all

Sorry for my first post being a question.

I've been a regular flyer on the LHR<->JFK route for the last couple of years and have an S-class premium economy ticket upgraded with miles to upper booked for next week. Unfortunately plans have changed and I won't be needing to fly to JFK for the foreseeable future. I will be flying to the west coast at some point later in the year though.

Does anyone know if there's a way to put the ticket on-hold so I can change it to an SFO trip when I know the dates I need to fly?

Cheers
Pete

Hi, I'm not aware that you can put an existing ticket 'on hold'.

What you can do is change your existing ticket to a flight in the future, paying any required change fees / fare differences and then do the same again when you know exactly when you will be flying.

Not idea I know, but I can't think of another solution unless you can claim on your travel insurance?

Hi

I've done this with LHR/HKG. I told FC that I would not be using the ticket. They said that the ticket would remain valid and could be used up to a year with change fees. It may have been my ticket, but it was a standard S class. In the end, the change fee was just £100

(I changed it to the date of the recent HK typhoon; VS cancelled the flight and refunded more than I paid - no idea why but I checked and they said it was right! :)

Thanks for the replies.

I know I can get the tax and upgrade miles back if I cancel, but it would be nice to not lose the ticket cost.

I'll give them a call to see what they can do. Luckily for me the ticket was bought be a client so I won't be out of pocket.

Cheers
Pete
