I'm new to vflyer and would really appreciate everyone's help. I'm shortly to do my 2nd VS flight so don't have enough miles for upgrades yet but I'm wondering if it is worth paying extra to upgrade from V room at Gatwick to the CH and what extras would I get. I'm travelling with my husband and my mum so I'm thinking CH is a great way to start our holiday. Thanks ?|

Hi Salsasam

I am going to make the assumption that you are booked with Vigin Holidays as that is the only way you can gain access to the V Room.

So the question is whether it is worth £60+ per person to gain access to the Clubhouse (if space is available).

Having been in both in my time, I would say they both offer a degree of peace and calm away from the hubbub of the Airport - although the V Room with its wooden floors is not as peaceful as the Clubhouse.

What would you get for your money ?? :

Food - but then you get that in the V Room
Drink - in the V Room you pay for alcohol, so you might have to go some way to recover your money
Treatments - only the basic treatments are free, so this in fact would be a further expense

The V Room offers super views and if you already have access then this is one of the best places to spend an hour or two if you do not have free access to the Clubhouse

Hope this helps

Thanks Buns - it sounds like I should stay in the V room and look forward to CH for the day I fly Upper and can use it to its fullest. Thanks for taking the time to help.

I agree, unless your flying UC with complementary Clubhouse then the V-Room is a great alternative to get you in the holiday mode: newspapers, TV, views of the runway, hot and cold food and drinks

Hello Salsasam

Mrs S phoned up to check as she is of to LAS soon with some friends (if they let them on the plane....) - customer services rep said £45 per person, so that might make it a little friendlier on the bank balance should you decide to splash out on the day.

Think it is more expensive at LHR as buns says - £60.00.

Gatwick clubhouse is nice and I'm looking forward go being there next week. However, when I have flown PE I have booked into No. 1 lounge for £15. I wouldn't pay £45 or £60 for the Clubhouse.
V room sounds good go me.
