Hello people of V-flyer !

Looking for inspiration for the summer. I have a period of time between July 21 and Aug 10 ....

... Looking to try and stay with vs and possibly delta as I lost silver due to flying with Cath pac and qantas last summer :(

On the VS network, what are your suggestions ? I'm open to all ideas :)

If you are not afraid of long distances, Hawaii is just amazing ... Just back from Oahu and had a blast! You can fly VS to LA and then Delta or Hawaiian to Honolulu ;)

Don't those dates coincide when the small noisy jam eater things are running around everywhere!?
Stay at home and avoid the jam eaters!

Haaa! We always try to avoid school holidays, too!

You could do a West Coast trip, start in San Francisco and drive down to LA and/or Vegas. I love the Hawaii suggestion, too.

It being the warmer time, perhaps fly into Boston, go down east coast, New York, Philadelphia and out Washington. Possibly by train.

Up the other way, Boston, Quebec city, Montreal, Toronto (could head to Chicago and go out there, not so sure about wanting to ever go to Detroit), or go back down to NY and Philly Washington again...

Another vote for Hawaii y) Chicago sounds great, too!

I hear that West Coast at that time of the year can be pretty foggy, though, so may not be best.

For Hawaii, I'd perhaps choose another airline than Virgin.

Indeed, the best way at the moment, would 1325 ukp, from Dublin (AA/BA to JFK, AA to LAX, AA to HON and back) all Business class... 6-10 nights around beginning of August...

Nothing is even listed for doing this via VS at the same time...

I'd take a shot a doing that direct with virgin in Upper to LAX and onwards with AA as costing upwards of 6K.

I'd take a shot going economy with VS direct and onwards will be about the club price...

Another vote for the west coast here. Regarding the weather May and June are the foggiest months, you should be fine in July and August especially in southern California. San Francisco can be foggy in the summer but this is true at any time of year. We did a west coast trip last year from 26th July-10th August and had perfect weather. We spent a week at Laguna Beach, absolutely beautiful town, unusually for America it's very compact and walkable with many independent shops, bars and restaurants. There's a main beach and many beautiful little coves. We went Whale watching and sea kayaking. We used it as a base for exploring southern California and had day trips to both LA and San Diego. We then headed to Yosemite, breathtaking. Next we had a few days based in Santa Cruz which we used to explore Henry Cowell Redwood park, we went zip-lining in the redwoods and hiked down to a beautiful swimming hole in the middle of the redwoods. We then spent a few days in San Francisco then finished off by taking a Virgin America flight to spend a night in Vegas. I can't wait to do it again when my wallet has recovered.
