Hi everyone, just spotted this on the "news" section of the website.

It's a copy and paste, but hope that's OK given where it's come from? Feel free to take it down (hopefully after a few people have seen it) and repost as appropriate if it's not allowed as a straight copy.

"In order to make improvements to our technology infrastructure, you will not be able to access your Flying Club or Flying Co account between 22:00 on Friday 20 February and 17:50 (UK time) on Saturday 21 February 2015.

This means you will be unable to make reward bookings or spend your miles during this time, either on our website or via our Contact Centres.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

Might have something to do with the news of changing server providers on a earlier thread?

I've heard they're upgrading to Windows Me, as it's the one thing that should mean the Millennium Bug shouldn't cause too many problems with their system.

Apparently the world's first operating system was GM-NAA I/O, produced in 1956 by General Motors' research division (I quote Wikipedia). So they must be upgrading to v2.

Don't be so silly. v1.2.

ROFLMAO y)

I must admit I am concerned, due to problems recently selecting to spend miles in flight searches, that VS IT have decided to remove the facility to search for an book reward flights online. Scary.

Surly that's far too advanced for the Hamsters to power. Unless they are recruiting more.

v.1.02 would be pushing it!

Of course they aren't recruiting more, tonty! Two of the female hamsters recently had a litter of pups each and they are now strong enough to join the work force!

i made this years ago by manipulating a stock clip, it was to explain some concepts to salespeople, this copy is compressed beyond all reason to make it small

i suspect that VS IT agents may have obtained a copy of the original for analysis and that this upgrade heralds the installation of a second wheel in the crawley bunker

Any attempt to access your Flying Club or Flying Co account during this period will, in all likelihood, result in the account falling, for nine days, from Earth to Tartarus.

We regret that accounts cannot be recovered from Tartarus.

Well whatever they did seems to have slowed down (that's me being optimistic - if I were being pessimistic I'd say stopped) miles & TPs being credited.

I flew Little Red on Friday and would normally expect them to have appeared in my account today but nothing so far. Fingers crossed they'll be there tomorrow.

yes i tried logging in to see what would happen and also found it all seemed to be operating as normal

so, is it...
- IT improvement was so fast smooth as to be unnoticeable, the outage notice was issued just in case
- IT improvement postponed due to IT issue

:)

Probably because the floppy disks with the new OS couldn't be found!
