I am flying for the first time on Virgin's 747 from JFK to LHR. I purchased a seat in the bubble economy. My question is do I have to wait for the lower deck to deplane before I can deplane myself or does the bubble have a separate entrance. My concern is how long I should allocate to get through immigration/customs. If I deplane fairly quickly I can get to customs faster.

Thanks

I think (correct me anyone if you know better) that you will be off before the rest of ECO - in theory... In practice it depends upon the CC on the day and the number of PAX on the flight.

LHR customs is pretty decent - even for non EU as far as I am told.

Thanks for the reply. I have read conflicting reports about being the last off or first off. I even called Virgin and the rep was not sure either.

We have travelled in the bubble our last 2 journeys (back from Florida and also back from Vegas) in PE and both times we were (along with the economy pax upstairs) off the plane before main economy cabin.

I must admit I love travelling in the bubble, its a lovely small cabin, especially for a night flight, very quiet. I've just helped my sister and her family book economy seats upstairs for her upcoming holiday to Florida.

Unfortunately, no unique air bridge for the 'bubble' but, as you have UC passengers in the front section of the upper deck, you are likely to be allowed to disembark after the lower UC cabin has cleared, and before PE and main cabin Y.

There is little point in making a run for Immigration as the queues will vary according to which other flight have arrived immediately before yours, and depend on staffing numbers and the nationality of the Passport that you hold.

Generally speaking, you will be through Immigration as the bulk of the luggage reaches the carousel; allow 35 - 50 minutes for the entire experience, as the walk from the air bridge is around 10 minutes.

Hi all
I travelled 7 times last year in the bubble PE and only twice were we off first before the main cabin EC, as mentioned depends entirley on CC on the day as to whether they hold EC back down stairs
