I booked Dragonbaby's tickets to LAX earlier today ( after a fair bit of aggro with FC that was eventually resolved by a nice supervisor who made amends for the debacle that had been caused).
E tickets were with me within minutes but unfortunately with the wrong date on one :0 ( I had double checked dates before I'd ended the call). Another phone call saw the promise that they'd be re- issued and that it would probably be Monday before I got them.
Moral of the story check tickets immediately.
Tickets however were re-issued this afternoon :) .
DB doesn't know I've booked her in UC on the return as a surprise :) .

What a lovely surprise for Dragonbaby. I bet you half wish you could be there to see her face when she discovers the Upgrade.

The dear baby dragon does not know how beneficially she's been treated! I agree, though, always check your eticket. I was once in Palm Springs enjoying the pool and shall I say several lunch martinis when a CDC arrived to take me to LAX and back to LHR, to my surprise, I was expecting it a day later. I was not packed, and no way could we have made the flight and it cost me a lot ("LOT") to correct the situation.

Lesson learned.

Thanks hiljil :) I'll probably give her the e-tickets tomorrow ( we're meeting her for lunch).
I told her the trip was do-able in Y ( financially) but as a reward for getting through 3 years of uni we thought it would be a nice end to her trip ( she's flying to Hawaii in Y too lol ): ).I opted for a combi fare ( as opposed to the Y - Y reward fare I'd planned) which actually was good value for money.
slinks, I dread to think how much that mistake cost......... :0

He probably made it back by drinking his weight in booze!

Now the important question.

Does DB use packing cubes or not?

Funnily enough I was only thinking earlier that I'd suggest using them when I see her tomorrow :) . She's not a huge packer ( takes after Mr DL and several years of summer interailing has taught her to pack frugally lol :D ). She has a fair bit of photographic kit to lug though...

I can still remember the drama when DB took a friend with you on a holiday and nobly decided to stay in Y with her. I believe that was the beginning of her learning curve. I think Aer John's was when he realised that J tickets had to be paid for and weren't automatically handed out on staff travel!! :o)

Spoilt! The pair of them! But they were worth it and, I think, now appreciate what we did for them. Well, I hope so! :0

What a good memory you have HL ):

Spoilt ! Absolutely. Worth it ? Absolutely :D .
I still have the picture of DB and her BF in Y ( DB with a face like a slapped a**e and BF smiling happily having been overawed by the CH :) ). Appreciative ? ( I'm sure Aer John is :) ).
I'll let you know about DB tomorrow :D .

Oh I remember that too.

Was DB expecting you to sit in Y with her in Upper? :o) :o) :o)

I think you'd have been the one to have a face like a slapped behind if she'd even suggested it AND had her deboarded as well ): ): ):
