I booked UC flights on VS23 which was originally at 12.35pm but has now been pushed back to 3.45pm. I booked a (non refundable) airport hotel for the night before on the basis that it would make life easier for the 12.45pm flight but now that the flight isn't until 3.45pm I don't know what we will do with ourselves in the morning!

How far before the flight departure time we will be allowed to use the lounge facilities?

There's no limit. You can arrive when the shutters go up around 6.30am if you want.

Many V-Flyers will happily spend 4 hours or more in there and of course you can always leave your bags in the cloakroom if you want to shop or go for a wander.

with those timings i'd get up whever you feel like it, stroll through checkin/security, to relax in the lounge

then you can begin the day properly with bubbly and breakfast, when the menu switches enjoy the CH burger, deli, etc. all with lashings of bubbly

then there's the spa, the showers are very good too, it's nice to start the flight fresh

four hours in the CH can fly by especially if you want to wrap up some pre-holiday work using the wifi, and of course post updates here on your progress :)

remember you can also use revivals lounge on your return if timing is ok (open until 1330), showers, spa, breakfast, it really is the only way to arrive!

I've arrived in the Clubhouse from a connecting flight at 9am for an onward departure at 4pm. In the same area of the CH was a man who had arrived before me and was still there when I left.

The earlier the better; the ClubHouse experience needs to be savoured like a glass of Le Pin.

You don't just quaff it down, you take your time and enjoy all of the pleasures within.

As a side note, I've just looked at the Berry Bros. & Rudd website, and realised that I have a small fortune accumulating in the cellar.

We had three and a half hours in there before our recent New York flight (trip report to follow). It as nowhere near enough. Next time I'm going to aim for at least five hours I think. Didn't even get a chance to check out the spa this time!

I have got a 7-8 hour visit lined up for december (check out of the hotel at 12 and flight just before 9pm)

As a side, is there any time limit on guests? still haven't found the elusive G for the wife yet so she still may be coming in as a guest.

Nope no time limit on them either.

Why are you trying to get rid of her? I'm not sure letting her loose in Duty Free is a good idea !

While true, I would be amazed and shocked if they didn't let a UC passenger's wife into the CH with him. They'd never hear the end of it from me, at least. :)

lol ,i remember the time I turned up at DTCI around 8.30 am for the VS11 which at the time was departing at around 3pm ,we had to wait at the barrier for a few minutes and a vs employee came down and asked what flight we were on , when I told him he said something along the lines of 'your very early aren't you!'
Obviously not accustomed to the ways of V-Flyer ! :P
