I don't sit on that side of the church

In my church (and a lot of Irish churches) there is what's known as the men's aisle and the women's aisle. Although I have lived in my home for nearly forty years and currently work in the church, I'm still not clear as to which is which but if I go to my home place in the west of Ireland, it is still clearly laid out!
