I have to go on a fairly last minute trip to JNB in economy and unfortunately I am forced into a non-upgradeable economy fare by work restrictions. As I will be travelling alone, can anyone recommend any specific seats as both are overnight flights? I am wondering about shelling out £80 and booking myself into exit seats both ways or hoping the flights are empty and going for aisle seats on the middle block of 4 down the back of the plane and hoping I can get a spare seat/row.

Could anyone do a load check for me please on the LHR/JNB flight on 09-Mar and the JNB/LHR flight on 13-Mar in Economy? Thanks

The website says it ranges from £60 to £199. They won't offer it if they think it'll be a full flight though, and I think you have to sit where they put you.

Seat plus cost us £120 on our outbound to vegas. They have allocated us seats right at the back of the plane but have said if we want to change we need to enquire at check in

I think I am going to take a chance and just assign a seat when OLCI opens. If the plane is quiet you can often get a middle row to yourself down the back of the plane anyway. Bearing in mind there are still some of the 8 exit seats available in both directions less than a week before the outbound flight, it can't be rammed packed I reckon
