Evening all,
Going over my bookings for my upcoming flight out of LGW on the 14th March, I check my hotel booking at the Hilton. It would appear that the executive lounge is closed on the 13th & 14th March for refurbishment with no other arrangements made to cater for guests staying in the executive rooms.
!
I made an advanced purchase of an executive room, this is not refundable. Hilton are saying that there is no other arrangements for guests. This information was not on the Hilton website yesterday so it would appear that the management have made the decision to close and refurb with only 10 days notice.
It's a shame that Hilton will not allow me to cancel the booking so I can stay over in the Sofitel and that it is only providing it's guests only 10 days notice of the closure. I can't think of any other benefit of staying in an executive room without access to the lounge, it certainly wouldn't justify the extra £40.
Hope this isn't effecting anyone else this next weekend.
