well this is the outbound of my last little red trip to Manchester :( and i am typing this sat in a room in the Manchester Airport Hilton remembering the events from the V-Flyer meet up and inaugural flight of two years ago ): .

I arrived at LHR at around 2pm and had a wander around the terminal for a while. terminal 2 is nice bright and spacious but I still have a liking of Terminal 1 with the costa coffee at gate 8 (as I know Sealink likes T1) and eventually met up with ColOrd who arrived on the VS3048 and went in to the EI lounge for a quick drink and brief catch up before boarding.

todays aircraft was in EI colours as DEI and EZW are over in Dublin for maintenance (I hope that does not include repainting) so EI-DEK would be the craft flying us today.

crew were friendly as always on boarding but a little slow with the service from the front. I was sat in row 10 and only just got a drink as the pilot announced 10 mins to landing.
the crew from the back of the bus had got to row 11 so everyone had a drink but the rubbish collection run and cabin secure seemed a little rushed as the slow service did not leave sufficient time on this 35 min flight.
It seemed that this crew did bot have the spark and flare that the crew on little red usually have, this was still a good flight but nothing special.

landing in MAN was smooth and we were quickly parked on stand and off before schedule.

looking forward to tomorrows VS3044 back to LHR hoping for EI-DEO to be swapped on to the Manchester run for this flight but not holding out much hope.

- ColOrd nice to meet up with you today i will see you again tomorrow.

A sad, nostalgic TR.

Thank you for sharing it.

It will be such a shame to loose the service but at least they gave it a (somewhat limited) try. I only used the MAN LHR route about 8 times, the loads did vary greatly but on the whole looked pretty healthy.
Sorry but can't agree with comments supporting T1, the Queens T is much better! The Costa was Okay but not a patch on the selection in T2, not that it matters now as my connections will be via T5!
Anyone suggestions on connections from MAN to Gatwick? Not needed it recently but understand that BA have dropped the route. Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh are all equidistant for me as alternatives.
