I sit writing this from the much maligned Air Canada lounge in T2 at LAX. We quite like it, but it suits us as we don't drink much alcohol. However, I am pretty disappointed as the LAX Virgin Clubhouse opens tomorrow! There are several signs around and all the ground staff confirmed the opening for the 28th. I'm sad to miss it (by one day!!) and not be able to report back to you all about what it's like, but hope other v-flyers get to enjoy it soon
We'll be back to sample it in July.
Wow, talk about unlucky. Thanks for the info though. Surprised they haven't shouted it from the rooftops but maybe it's a soft opening to give them time to get up to speed ready for a big PR launch when the VS7/8 goes on to the 787.
I know, I'm pretty sad to miss out by one day. The terminal is an absolute disaster, which might have an effect on why they haven't announced it more proudly. It looks like a building site. They're improving it in conjunction with Westfield shopping centres, so hopefully it'll be nice once done.
Thanks for the Update
Hope the flight back home made up for missing the new Clubhouse

Talk about lucky. Guess who flys on it next day and is packing now? Will report with pics given I'm likely the first v-flyer in.
Thanks for the update.
When does VS7/8 switch to 787?

Thank you for the update, and sorry to hear that you missed it so narrowly!! Have a great flight.
We flew back from LAX on Sunday - and like Spacedog, and were so disappointed to miss the clubhouse by just a couple of days. Didn't help that we had to walk past and could even glimpse into it
Also used the Air Canada lounge and, as Spacedog again says, it has no alcohol licence. Could have done with a drink, as the drive from Vegas to LA was quite stressful... but Air Canada's lounge was nearer. Am sure this used to be the New Zealand lounge?

29 April for the soft opening was rumoured a little while back, the launch party is next week I believe so there will be a splash! The 789 starts on Tuesday the 5th on the VS7.
I'll be on the VS24 on the 10th, so if no one has been through before I'll take some photos and do a write up.
AC was always next door to the NZ lounge. The clubhouse, being where AF was should have good views!

There's a plane at JFK, to fly you back from far away
all those dark and frantic transatlantic miles

I stand corrected
Seemed exactly the same layout!
I thought AC had indeed moved into the old NZ lounge?
I always enjoyed the Koru club, bright and airy, nice showers and fine selection of Kiwi beverages.
There are a couple of pictures on the VS Facebook page. It doesn't look very big or is there another section?
