We have booked a VS flight to ATL and a connecting DL flight down to MCO. Both flights are on the same booking ref so a true connecting flight.

Having never done a true connecting flight can you enlighten me

When I check in do I check once or do I check in both flights?
Do I get one boarding pass or two?
Do you get charged for checking in suitcases on the DL flight if connecting from VS?

I know I have to collect the luggage at ATL and recheck - Thanks for that info

Thanks

You should be able to check in once and receive both boarding passes one for each flight. If you are unable VS can issue the 2nd at baggage drop at LHR/MAN
Your luggage I don't think you pay as you have a long haul flight on the same day.

On arrival in to ATL you clear immigration then pick up your case walk through customs an then drop your case on a belt at the DL desk before proceeding on the tram to the terminal for your onward flight.

On arrival in MCO you are a domestic passenger so just get the tram to the A side of the terminal to baggage reclaim. (VS use the B side)

Just a reminder that if you pick up any duty free either at LHR on board that you should put it in your checked baggage before you hand it back over.
