If he stands in the corner of his garden he can see the N2 (the road to his house from Kingsburgh is parallel to the N2) and he has waved as you went past. It's a bit further on than the exit which is why you didn't see him.

I'd hardly call Margate "just south" of Durban. Amanzimtoti and Kingsburgh, yes; Scottsburgh maybe, but not Margate! South, yes but not just south!!
