We are flying to Orlando on the 19th June in Economy, have booked extra legroom seets and just wondering if it is worth upgrading to Premium Economy. My booking is showing over £700 pp to upgrade for the outward leg... seems awfully expensive to me... would value some expert advice please. :)

Personally I'd say no. If there are two of you that £1400 would probably pay for your hotel and meals for a week instead of four extra inches for 9 hours.

Agreed with the above, that is not a great price - you might get lucky between now and then and hit a PE sale, but for now I'd say you're best off in the extra legroom seats. :)

Agree with all of the above, I wouldn't pay that much for economy to PE upgrade. We upgraded from economy to UC outbound and PE inbound on a flight to Barbados last year for £600 per person.

That's a lot of money for economy-PE! I would pay around £200 for a similar upgrade, and as others have said, in the sale you could pick up a PE return for not much more. You never know, there may be cheaper cash upgrades at the airport on the day.

What type of ticket did you buy in the first place?
If it is the cheapest then it's not easy to upgrade.
A couple of years ago I bought cheapest PE to MCO at around £800 each
I tried to upgrade to UC at the airport and they wanted £900 per person for one leg.

That's fair for cheapest PE to UC.

£700 for Economy to PE is way over the odds. £300 max I'd say.

:? Adds a new dimension to the old "I'm in UC and my travelling partner is in Economy" discussion.

Just to concur with the views above, much as I dislike travelling in Economy, at that price I would not consider the upgrade as vfm, especially when you have extra legroom seats.

Thanks everyone... I'm a novice and don't know much about fare codes, on the way out we are O class economy and K class premium. Had hoped to blag a cheap upgrade on the way out too. Must have been really lucky last year we managed an upgrade on the return leg for £105 each... The problem is once you do it once you want to do it again!!! Just checked they are actually looking for £785pp to upgrade Outbound or £1475pp for Upper ...bearing in mind the total flight cost for all 3 of us is only £2k.... Think I will be staying put in our extra legroom seats on the way out... Hubby will just have to lump it!

Get to bed late the night before your flight so you arrive at the airport pretty tired. get to your seat-fall asleep and before you know it you will be landing.

Eventhough I am a huge supporter of " the flight is part of the holiday" philosophy, when plans go awry it is all about getting there safely and refreshed. like many are saying £785 is a lot of money - and another trip .

We were quoted £850 each for upgrade to premium from Las Vegas to manchester in July with VH. Nearly as much what we have paid for a 2 week holiday.

Declined the offer (phoned 3 times and always been given a price around £850) looks like we will be in economy this year for the first time in 9 years.

Yep, no from me as well, seems expensive and the extra leg room seats aren't too bad. You might hit lucky at the airport too, I've upgraded E to PE for £150 each before on the day, so you never know. I would keep the £1400 for shopping/spending when you are over there

Afraid I don't have a money tree, so it's looking like extra legroom seats unless there is a super duper disocunt at check-in!!! Here's hoping PE is quiet and they are desparate to sell the seats!!
