I had it when I upgraded from PE to UC early this week. Waited for the new ticket to be issued and then another 24 hours. Called in the end, they sorted it for me. Phone call lasted 4 mins 23 seconds :)

I had this when I upgraded from PE to UC. My Travel Agent couldn't do a seat reservation and told me to chose a seat online. When I tried I got that message, I called the number and a lovely young man on the other end of the phone informed me it always happens on an upgrade. Within 5 minutes, he reserved my seats and sorted the web site out so I could see the seat map. :D

I had this for several months following bookings made last December. Both bookings were miles upgrades, weirdly the "seat map is unavailable" only affected the booking for April and May, the one for September and October was perfectly OK.

Maybe it's something else causing it, not miles upgrades. Gerbil fatigue?

I have a VH package booked with VS flights and DL connections. I keep getting that message and apparently will not be able to select a seat until VH issue the tickets via DL. I have however chosen seats on the DL ATL-MCO and MCO-JFK sectors in Y+ as a VS gold.

Hi,

I have had this a lot recently but all was resolved for me on Saturday by a helpful agent. The problem occurs when your seat in the previous booking has not been removed. This therefore blocks any further seat selection using Manage My Booking online though the agents can do it on the phone. Because of the nature of upgrades and flight changes this is a common error.

The solution is to have an agent remove the seat assignment from the original flight and you will have full access to your new flight/cabin seat map in MMB again.

As an external company manage the seat reservations, the systems are not linked in a way that allows both to be updated at the same time.

Hope this works for you :)
