I've searched for this and found conflicting information. Can anyone tell me what time the JFK clubhouse opens?
iirc it's about 15.00 , last time I was there I had to wait for 15/20 mins for it to open , cost me $ 10 for a Stella in a bar whilst doing so !

Morning or evening flight ??

We're getting the VS10 back at 2130, our domestic flight gets in to JFK at around 13:30 though so we'll have a fair bit of time to kill. Will check in be open then too?
Assuming you can check your bags in, with that length of lay over I'd be tempted to take the Subway/LIRR in to Manhattan and have an hour or two of exploring there.

Yeah that may be an option. Does anyone know what time check in opens?
Suggest you contact VS on Facebook or Twitter.

Have just had a response from them - 2 days after emailing - they just gave a stock answer saying three hours before take off for both...
Thing is, this seems to contradict plenty that I've read on the Internet about people having several hours in the clubhouse...
Be interested if anyone has checked in early at JFK for one of these later flights?

I'm pretty sure i had to wait until about 2.30 ish for the staff to appear for my last flight from there ,don't forget there are some late flights out of JFK so that still leaves lots of time to enjoy the CH

What flight are you on ?

We're on the VS10 so don't leave till 2130 - if the clubhouse is anything like the LHR one I'll be more than happy to spend a lazy afternoon there - just a bit worried now that this may not be possible!
Check in opens 3 hours before the first flight back (VS4?) I have checked in at 2:30 for the VS10 before.

Brilliant! Just what I was hoping. Did you get to go into the clubhouse at that time?
The website says, under airport guides, that check in opens at 14:15 at JFK
That's great, thanks everyone - looks like it'll all work out

While a lovely place to wait - far better than 99% of US airport lounges - I fear you may be disappointed if you're expecting another LHR CH.
The staff are lovely, the food's excellent and the bar's well stocked but it's a lot smaller with far fewer facilities so spending the entire afternoon there may get more than a little tedious.
As recommended above I'd head off-airport if you've got many hours to spare.

Agreed....we got there at 6pm for VS10 and that was long enough. If you can get to the point of travelling light I'd be looking to head into Manhattan for a couple of hours.
We can get better, because we're not dead yet
