Hi guys

Am I doing something wrong? A few plans have changed and my week in Miami has become a little less eventful, not that this is a bad thing, but I was going to use it to do a little tier point run on Delta in First Class, I figured a two leg flight out of Miami at 3 TP a flight would add a nice 12 TP's into my total and actually get me with a little trip away next year my Gold Status.

Alas, it seems like almost anything I search for with DL out of MIA is coming up in the $1000's for First Class and even Y is coming in at silly prices.

Am I missing a trick with getting decent prices on DL Domestic First or is it just that MIA is an expensive route?

JFK to MIA return in first was coming out at $600 when I booked, it was $800 last time I looked.

I've just been a little bit of an idiot, and not noticed that when you select the return fare its giving you the option of First non flexible or First flexible. I assumed, that it was First or Economy which explains the massive difference.

I assume First is First regardless of booking class when it comes to TPs?

Yes, first is first.

I too misread the booking pages the first time I used Delta's website.
For the outbound flight, the econ prices are on the left, and F on the right.
When you click through to the return flight, it only gives you F options, with the cheaper inflex options on the left, and more expensive on the right.

It's actually a cognitive dissonance in terms of user interface; we naturally expect consistency across similar looking pages, so can miss things when they are shifted about.

Thank you so much both of you, as it proves that whilst I was having a blonde moment, I'm clearly not alone in mis-reading it!

Just be careful with the first class domestics.
I have had a few and am still chasing the three TPs for each leg. I get one posted with no problems.
You then have to try to get Delta to send you info that you then send to VS CS as VS will not do this for you.

We've done a lot of DL runs with no issue. Usually shorter routes (e.g. JFK - BOS / IAD) are available at great prices. Might be useful if you can reposition to NYC...
