I just hate it when I realise I have bought something online and "forgot" to order it through an airline shopping portal :0

800 miles thrown away. And it's not as if it's the first time I have done it either.

Bad Maximus :(!

Cancel and repurchase, it's double miles at the moment I think.

Isn't there a thingy (notice the technical term) that you can download that reminds you if you can get miles from a retailer ?

Yes there is tontybear, but it drives me to distraction!

My own fault. I cannot cancel the order either as they have already dispatched the parcel. Too damn efficient for their own good ii)

I have done it far too many times to count.
My next dilemma is do I book the Gatwick Hilton now via Rocket Miles and get 5000 miles £97 or do stay at the Bloc and save £30, which was my plan till I got a reminder of 30th May deadline to get RM bonus?

5,000 miles for £30
0.6p a mile.

IF i needed miles, then Id be booking with Rocket.
IF i didnt need the miles, then Id be saving £30

Dicky, I just booked a hotel with the Rocketmiles offer (less exciting venue as it is in Stoke-on-Trent!). So easy come, easy go for me today with the airmiles.

I suppose you need to decide how much an airmile is worh to you. If you vaue a mile at a penny each then the Rocket miles offer is better overall. But if you are miles-rich you may not value them so high.

Also, if the Hilton is nicer than the Bloc in your opinion, go for the RM offer and offset the better option for your holidays :)

Nernernernerner!

Sadly, I've done it myself too many times. And I couldn't get on with the Shops Away toolbar either - took too long to load and caused all kinds of shenanigans (that's my technical term :P ) with Internet Explorer.

You win some you lose some.

You do indeed!

To offset this error on my part, I have just found a nice stash of miles in my Amex BAPP account thanks to a fellow V-flyer asking me to recommend them y) So I have no cause to complain :D

Did a Rocketmiles booking and they have credited straightaway, so highly recommend them. Also always check on Topcashback before buying anything as you can convert to Tesco, BAEC, and Avios.

Yes, and I've got several transactions lined up that I'm waiting on the card arriving for as I've hit my bonus with the Amex Gold in the first month so want to start on the other! What are we like eh?

I've made a decision and booked the Hilton via Rocket Miles.
It earned my 5000 Virgin Airmiles, and although I already have next years tickets upgraded and about 60000 in the bank every little helps.
Thanks to all comments above which gave me the push I needed.

I already have enough for 2017. We use 50000 each to upgrade and Mrs D has her own account.

You let Mrs D have her OWN account? Whatever next? ):

I have miles, I just need time to use them. I have no idea how my American friends manage, some of them get just 2 weeks annual leave a year. I get 6 weeks and want more.
