Hi All,

I have been trying for the past week to book a miles redemption flight between Hong Kong and London Heathrow. I have tried across various dates until the year end, and each time I try, the 'spend your miles' option is greyed out and it says "sorry, flying club miles cannot be used for this route"

Has anyone else come accross this issue?

Thanks in advance.

I've just done some dummy return bookings (though starting at the LHR end) and there is reward availability in all cabins both ways right through this year into next year.

I'm also getting the spend miles option greyed out though if you start at the HKG end. Probably easier to just ring FC.

This is a website bug, I encountered it last week and called up FC to discover plenty of availability on the dates I was looking at.

The hamster went out for lunch again.

I had a similar problem for a flight at the beginning of May, nothing showing for any suitable dates so booked a direct flight from MAN on Cathay Pacific.
Pleased that I did it was a revelation. Bagged a Business return in a 5 day sale and have to say I was very impressed. I have been given permission to do a trip report by HL et al but it is still being formulated on the word processor thingy on my new computer!

I had this issue as I'd seen them one day and 2 days later it said they weren't available on a 1 way redemption so I called flying club and they said it's not a problem and you can just book HK to LHR using miles. I advised them of their website glitch and they said they'd look into it. Obviously it hasn't been rectified.

To check availability, do a dummy return and it will show the return availability. If there is availability on the date you want, you will have to phone FC to get it booked. I got an upper and an economy and I'm constantly looking for availability to upgrade the economy seat to either PE or Upper for hubby.

The taxes are really cheap just booking the one way as HK taxes aren't that expensive and there's no credit card fee either which must be a UK thing.
