I've just booked my DTCI slot for my August trip to SA.

I mentioned to the lovely VS lady in UC support that I will be using Purple Parking Meet n Greet.

She said that there are plans, probably within the next month, for VS to do the whole booking for the DTCI slot and PP Booking in one go. 8D

The best bit..... they are planning to get the PP drivers to meet and greet just outside the door at the top of the ramp...no more waiting in the drop off lanes to be picked up. ^)

If it does happen what a great enhancement to the DTCI experience. y)

I was told in March by the PP captain that this was happening. I do hope it goes ahead but I was told it would be in place by April. y)

Hi we are flying UC I have never used the DTCI, at the moment we have booked

Heathrow Meet and Greet

"Leave your car and keys in the Short Stay Meet & Greet zone. We park your car. When you return, it’s waiting for you"

Follow signs for Terminal 3 Short Stay Car Park. Drive up to the barrier, your registration will be read and a ticket issued automatically showing your booking reference. Drive up to Level 1 and follow the signs for Heathrow Meet & Greet. Register your arrival & hand over your keys at the Meet & Greet Reception, your car will then be parked for you.

Can we use DTCI dropping the family and kids off then wizz the car to the short stay car park before we all proceed through security?

Not really because they don't like people lingering in that area - it really is quite small - so they would be expected to go through security etc.

+ you would need to use the terminal to check in, you could drop them off at DTCI and meet them in the clubhouse however.

Yes.

Book your PP Meet and Greet either online or by phone to PP.
Tell PP that you wish to use Virgin Upper Class DTCI...they will note it on your booking.(You'll have to phone them if you book online)

Call them with your ref number about 30 minutes before arrival at LHR and they will tell you where to meet your driver....usually on the Valet Parking lane at T3.

Either you or the driver can then drive your car round to the Upper Class Wing and then the driver will take your car away for parking.

Upon return, go to the car park (level 3, I think) and collect your keys from the PP rep and off you go.

Hope this helps.

As long as you are traveling Upper you could arrange a local taxi to do this from a pre arranged meeting place.

Is there a local taxi firm around T3 recommended for this?

Personally, if I was at T3 already, I wouldn't bother, just check in downstairs and take the lift to security.

I know others would say otherwise but only think I like about DTCI is not having to lug luggage around.

So the good news is that as of this week you can do Meet and Greet with Purple Parking actually in the DTCI itself the bad news is the price.

I priced meet and greet myself via the virgin website and it quoted £116.00. In order to have the driver meet you in the DTCI you have to call Upper Class support and they quoted £199.00 for the same dates!

:? £83 to avoid having to pick up the driver? I wonder does it mean that Purple Parking will now no longer agree to a pick up in the usual area followed by ad drive through...

Great, Simon booked our parking last week but used Heathrow valet by mistake.
I called them to see if they would take us thro to the upperclass wing. They told me they don't offer that service but as I was flying on Sunday they would make an exception. It saved me cancelling but it was £40 more expensive than PP.
Sorry to hijack this thread but I have a question regarding PP and Heathrow parking...
Last time I did PP valet I had to pick the car up in the parking lot out side t3 but Heathrow parking States the car will be waiting outside T3 for us. Will it be outside outside or in a parking lot like PP? I only ask as I will stick with Heathrow parking if that's the case as I'd prefer the car on the road when I arrive. Hope I haven't confused you!!

We used Heathrow valet parking at LHR T3 at the begining last year and if memory serves me correctly our car was waiting in the designanted parking bay in the short-stay car park opposite the terminal.

Yes, for Heathrow Valet Parking at T3, you pick your car up in the short stay car park, but you don't have to go all the way to the roof like PP, just the level you enter on.

Heathrow Parking is normally fully refundable outside of 24hrs.

I did DTCI with PP about two weeks ago.

I used Purple Parking Meet and Greet service. I arranged DTCI with Upper Class support and rang PP in the morning to advise that I wanted to use DTCI, they said absolutely fine but they needed a time so a chap could meet me in the Valet lane of the drop off zone (lane closest to the short stay car park). I said 1pm and as I swung into the last lane at T3, a chap flagged me down and he jumped in the passenger seat as I drove round to DTCI.

Smooth ride around the block and into the DTCI where I was in the Clubhouse maybe 10 mins after giving my keys to the PP chap.

On the return, I went to Revivals and had breakfast before walking over to the short stay car park (the walk bridge is helpfully on the same level as Revivals!) to pick up my car.

All in all very easy. Especially as I got around 1000 miles by booking PP via the Shops Away website.
