Hi, does anyone know if it is possible (ignoring whether there is availability) to redeem VS miles on AKL-YVR on AirNZ?

It is not listed as an option under the partner flights on the flying club website, I am just not sure if that list is complete or if it is just not permitted.

I assume if possible it would be the same 80k as SFO or LAX?

Give FC a call. To be honest, though, your problem is going to be availability: there just isn't any for VS miles redemptions.

Several people on here have tried to redeem VS miles on NZ and not had any luck. I once asked for R/T LAX-AKL availability in J on any day in an eight month period and drew a blank.

In Y, you might be lucky, though, I suppose...

Redemption on ANZ is fairly sown up with Airpoints and ANZ members, trying to get any form of reward via "partners" is extremely hard.
You have to give a date, they ring and advise not available, you then have to give another date... Etc etc.

Best bet would be as suggested ring FC and good luck, intrigue to see if any result..

it is possible. Just as it is possible to travel at 99.99999% of the speed of light.

Alas in today's world they are only theoretical postulates.
