Thanks everyone.

I'll try and write TRs in next few days. Great flight though with excellent CC, and first impressions of SFO are good. Omni Hotel is excellent, just the type we like, kind of classic old school opulent but understated if you know what I mean.

HUGE breakfast! Having to rest before going out as we're stuffed.

So, itinerary has to change for today as OHs trainers are hurting his feet so he's chucking them and we're off to Macy's & Nordstrom to get him new walking shoes. If he'd listened to me before we left we wouldn't have this problem but far be it for me to say "I told you so".

TTFN my lovelies:)

Don't forget to pick up your international visitor discount cards are both those stores before your start shopping (you will just need your UK photo ID).

Didn't know about that but got tourist discount anyway, and there is a one day sale. He got his shoes, and I just had to have a pair too!

Enjoy Bretty,
I have just returned from that great city. Unfortunately I have been forced to go back in four weeks to work for two weeks.
For the trainers (sneakers!!!) try the big Nike store on the corner. Not sure what the style your OH is liking but I will just say custom.............. :)
If you have car and like your shopping I did find a few good outlet malls but they were a fair drive.

Skechers is the shoe of choice in these parts!

On a more sombre note, Bretty, is there any talk there about the 6 Irish students who were killed in a balcony fall in Berkley?

I've got a couple pairs of sketchers, and OH has a pair too but he didn't bring those! Anyway, he bought some timberland sort of loafer / boat shoe looking with a good sole for walking. Trainers (sneakers) are really not his thing.

I've heard it mentioned in a newscast, but primarily the news coverage at present is centred around the killing in the church in South Carolina, and the coverage of the bond hearing. I've not heard or seen much else.

What we have found today, on a lighter note, is that SFO is awash with young people ROI working here for the summer. Met a few working in shops and restaurants around Fisherman's Wharf today, from Dublin and Kildaire.

Lol

Well that's ok, I think we'd die happy. After just a day we've both fallen for SFO, it's got that same vibe we found in YVR & YYJ.

But I wouldn't say no to a butch omi with big thews and a nice basket trying to rescue me :w

Glad to hear you are both enjoying it out there. Though I had little doubt you wouldn't!
