I was on the VS5 yesterday landed at 1700 got a golf buggy to immigration about 50 mins through immigration (visa), about 30 mins to collect bags and line in customs. Lines for both exits were long. In car from car rental centre by 1830.
I agree it could be worse! Although I only go through there once a year (sometimes twice at the most!). Ive contemplated going over to the Amex lounge in Concourse D before but after realising how far id have to run so that I don't miss the flight I decided not too. The BA shared lounge is just as much stuck in the 90's as Club America so for connivence id stick to CA. They used to in the late 90's serve hot food (the soup they put out doesn't count!) but I suppose the footfall there is far less now. To be honest I think Concourse D& F in MIA need a major revamp. It would be nice I suppose given Virgin's new partnership with Delta to be able to use their lounge as UC pax.
