We just booked some flights with Singapore for September and decided to give their new PE product a whirl. The Virgin website doesn't list Tier Point earning for this class (I'm assuming as it's relatively new). I called FC and the very helpful lady said that they should have this information by now but don't, so she's put in a request for it to be sent over ASAP after asking a few other members of staff. She said to keep an eye out on the website as it should be with them in 1-2 weeks, but knowing their website updating progress I feel I could be waiting a while! Does anyone have any experience with this? Her thought, based on their current TP awarding, was that it would be 3-4 TP per sector depending on booking class.
I'm really excited to try it; will report back in full when we've flown. If anyone else has experience flying PE with SQ, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Also, according to the VS website as I'm AU I'll get extra luggage and use of business class check in. This sounds great in theory, but in practice do you know if most SQ staff are aware of this? I'm always worried about ending up having to prove the point. Apparently in London and Singapore we'll have access to a lounge: in LHR it's the Premier Lounge or Business Class area of the SilverKris Lounge, and in SIN it's the SATS Premier Lounge as we fly from T2. We also have a Priority Pass, so I'm wondering if anyone has tried the lounges in LHR and SIN and what they're like so we can make the best decision about where to spend our time. Our flight is at about 1am on the way back, so ideally somewhere comfortable would be great!
