So after see this thread I thought I'd check my total TP's in the latest 10 years as I though I must be close to this. I have earned 331 TP's over the last ten years, so I dropped a note to FC. I received the following response:

Thank you for your enquiry. I apologise for the delayed response.
I'm pleased to confirm you can obtain a Gold for life account if you earn 300 tier points on Virgin Atlantic flights and hold a Gold Flying Club member status for 10 consecutive years.
Or you if you earn 1 million base flown miles on Virgin Atlantic flights and you'll also receive a lifetime of Gold membership benefits plus and an exclusive gift too. Please see our website for details: http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/fr ... orlife.jsp
We are unable to access all the account details relating to this qualification to be able to check this I'm afraid. It will be necessary that you will need to wait for a notification from our Marketing team, which you will receive when you have achieved the correct criteria.
Our marketing team run monthly reports and will notify you as or when you become eligible for this offer.
