787 jnb to lhr jan '16

1st post guys - so be gentle (still working out all the jargon!)

Going out to JNB with BA CW on 30th Dec (using avios) - rtn JNB - LHR in Jan on VS602
I spotted that current flights are still on the 340 but my seat map for 4K/5K says 787
When's the changeover to the 787 on thr jnb route? Used 340 to DEL & JNB previously but only econ.
Flying UC on my miles (initally full fare econ, then took a PE reward upgrade until I spotted they had released UC flying back 2 days later - flying club staff told nme to trial book each day & it worked).
It's a G class fare - is that correct I won't be able to use revivals back in LHR?

Me and Mrs paulmc going for the NYE in Cape Town & the test match (late 60th prezzie to myself ) - not got a ticket yet! Any ideas??

I too, am booked to go to JNB but in November and my flight is also showing as a 787. In the past, I would have said that the changeover would take place when the winter schedules came in at the end of October - in the past it used to be to a 747. However staff members here on the board have intimated that the 787 will be used on a different route instead.

The reality is that as 787s continue to join the fleet and the A346s leave, everything is up in the air (if you'll excuse the pun!) and aircraft scheduled for different routes are shuffled around depending on loads and the availability of aircraft. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be the 787!

With regard to Revivals, you will be able to use Revivals on your return. It is an absolute gem after an overnight flight, especially if you have an onward journey.
