LGW to CUN - Who has stayed at SMB???

Hi All,

Apologies if this isn't allowed but I cannot find the information I need anywhere on tripadvisor or google!

I am going to Cancun in November and staying at Secrets Maroma Beach. And need a question answered by any Virgin Holiday users who went to Secrets Maroma Beach.

Basically I don't do coaches that well and I need to know the transfer time from airport to hotel using the free coach transfer provided, so I know whether to book a private transfer or not. If the transfer time isn't that bad and the roads acceptable I would rather save the cash for excursions rather than on a transfer that is being offered to me for free

Virgin have given a generic 'unable to tell until the day to see how many people are on coach and which hotels' response so I just wanted the opinions of other Virgin flyers...

Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated!

Didn't stay at SMB but did stay at Secrets - the Vine twice.

Transfers aren't really by coach but by 6-8 seat air conditioned vans run by a local company, I forget which one. The roads around the airport are really good, better and smoother than UK roads for sure - this is not true if you go to Chichen Itza though :P

Google maps says it should take you about 30 minutes to get from the airport to the hotel. Hope that helps a little.

I haven't been to Cancun for some years but seem to recall the journey from the airport to resort is a fairly short one & very comfortable. Haven't stayed at SMB but if it is as good as Secrets Montego Bay I doubt you will be dissapointed.

We love SMB and when stayed got a private transfer both ways. It is not far from the airport and would try Canada transfers as always cheap and very professional. You will loveyour stay there and I am not at all jealous!?
