Companion Flight - Chances of Miles Upgrade?

Hi all,

Just sorting another work trip for the end of August and planning on taking Mrs SWG with me.

I have a companion flight, and their is availability to use - flying Premium Economy. I can also see some PE to UC fare codes available; what are the chance of me using miles to upgrade and being able to also upgrade her as well?

Any thoughts or comments appreciated

Zilch! You have to buy your revenue ticket in the highest fare buckets, S or W for PE to use the companion voucher (forgive me if you already know this), which of course you can upgrade with cash or miles if available. But for the person travelling on the companion voucher to access UC you have to buy a revenue UC ticket for yourself in the J fare bucket which isn't discounted. You can't upgrade the companion voucher to another cabin with miles.
