First off I apologise in advance as this has probably been discussed here before. I'm flying upper class next month and I've added my itinerary to the calendar on this website. I presume as a solo traveller I can have a guest in the clubhouse so set my itinerary accordingly. If someone was to want to use that, how does that work and what would I need to do? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Yes you can have a guest but they need to be on the same flight as you.

Someone may just comment on your itinerary post or private message you.

It's then up to you to decide how to deal with the request. Some v-flyers insist that the requester has made a contribution to the site (comments etc) where as others don't. It's down to you.

On the day you can just leave their name at the entry desk and that's it's. They won't be let in until you arrive though.

There is no need to meet the person but you will be responsible as 'host' for their behaviour.

I do recall a few years ago there was a very aggressive poster who was basically demanding access for his adult son and girlfrienf and posted things like "so is anyone going to guest them in???". Given the only posts they had made were to demand bring guested they got short shrift!

We have both guest hosted and received guest access from other v-flyers (and in one case guested a nice couple in the queue for checking at lax who we had talked to whilst waiting. Surprising a nice Pe or Y passenger with clubhouse access makes their day ! I don't like the guest access going spare if we can surprise someone when we have a spare due to both being in UC.

We will always post itinerary a month out to allow time for this but personally we follow the rules that the person has had to contribute to the site with a few useful posts or be someone we know for us to say yes to them.

Just to clarify there is no V-Flyer rule that a guest has to have contributed to the site or made a certain number of comments before they can be guested in. It is just the personal preference of the host. We've had previous debates about this with some happy to guest in anyone but others requiring a degree of contribution.

The only rules that do apply are the VS ones that the guest must be on the same flight as the host and the guest can't be admitted until the host is in the CH.
