Making gold between sectors

Hi all,

Finally going to make gold for the first time when I fly to SFO in October. I just have a question about the transition.

My account says I need 4 TP before the end of October, or 10 before the end of November. I am flying in Upper on a Z fare so will receive 5 each way. The outbound is October 31st, and return on the 4th of November. Will I make gold after the first flight or is it only after the return is complete? And if the answer is the former, will I then receive the benefits of Gold for my return flight?

If your outbound flight on the 31st takes you to 40TP then yes, you should hit gold. Miles & TPs normally hit your account within 48 hours so if you check your account on the 2nd it should show you're Gold in time for your return flight.

If you're planning on taking advantage of the Gold extra luggage entitlement for your return leg it might be worth taking a screenshot or printout of your FC account page once it's turned gold to show at check-in, just in case their systems haven't caught up.

You can always do a missing miles claim as if you use the form on the VS website, you get your miles automatically credited to your FC account instantly and you can do this within hours of stepping off a VS flight as well. It always works for me.
