My new Virgen credit card came through last night. So today I rang to cancel my amex gold. When I rang they asked if they could do anything to keep me, so I told them that I had a better deal elsewhere. So they then say if they waive this years membership would I stay. I ummed and ahhhed. So then they said if they waived membership fees altogether, for ever would I stay. So I said yes. They credited my account there and then with the fee from this year and changed my details so that from now on its free.

I only joined amex to get the free miles, so to now have had the fee waved is really rather pleasing.:D:D

So now to ring Natwest to tell them I'm off to CPT (so please do not stop my card for security just cause my spending pattern has changed). I think I may mention how good the deal I get is elsewhere and see what happens!!!!!

Yep, that worked a breeze too. They said they had noticed I was not using my natwest card much these days, so I explained how amex was more useful, miles wise to me. They waived the fee.......Quite clearly they are the bank that likes to say YES!

Right better go and pack a bag.
