Arrived back at LGW yesterday from the Florida heat to 3 degrees. Got home. Guess what ? The boiler wasn't working properly. Seemed to have spent all day ( with jet lag too) with the plumber trying various things. Just heard. It will be a new boiler. Ouch ! But better than patching things and it completely packs up mid December & all plumbers in hibernation.

So, a very timely reminder about my next trip, thank you :-D
P.S Just re-read this post & I'm not sure the sentence about the plumber trying things sounds as I meant it to !!

Made me chuckle being a plumber :-D

In the spirit of maintaining your excitement for your First flight to MIA next Spring hilgil, I thought I would tempt you with the main course meal choices for my flight in a few weeks. As you know, I am sure, you can pre-order your main meal when flying from LHR. The choices I have been sent are:

Seared fillet of Aberdeen Angus beef with braised carrots, trompette mushroom filled potato with a herb crust, carrot purée and jasmine tea jus

Corn fed chicken ballotine, broccoli couscous, salsify batons, roasted shallots, glazed chicken oysters with thyme jus

Poached North Atlantic halibut with cassoulet of beans, crosnes, and lobster sauce

Main course salad of Thai seven spiced tuna steak, papaya, coriander and pepper salad with warm chilli noodles and sweet Thai dressing

Decisions, decisions...

My advice is don't unless you are absolutely sure of what you want. I Booked the Cook on my Singapore Airlines flight a couple of years ago and instantly regretted it once on board and saw what else was on offer.

I see your point HL, but there is only one choice I would eat. I rarely eat meat and am no lover of fish so it has to be the chicken :)

A little known secret but it's possible to use the VS lounge if you're flying on another carrier out of T3 and you are a Gold card holder. Yes, it took me by surprise as well as I thought you had to be flying VS. The lounge angels did tell me that the rules were changing soon when I last did it (about 2 weeks ago) but didn't say when. Saved me from going to the AA flagship downstairs :-)
