Toilets for UC on 787s

Just been to HKG and back on the 787 and wondered if anyone else also found the fact there are just 2 toilets a little frustrating? There was always a queue and it was like a zoo just before landing. Never experienced this before in UC on other planes, is the UC pax:toilet ratio worst on the 787?

I know they (occasionally I should add...) pull the curtain across to stop PE using the front two toilets but every time I went up PE pax were using them as they pleased. Why on earth wasn't a toilet or two installed at the front?

I am reliably informed that the toilet/passenger ration is:

LHR 747 - 1/17
A330 - 1/16.5
A346 - 1/15
787 - 1/15.5

I just flew on the 787 in UC.

CC were directing us to use the PE toilets just on the other side of the curtain, so 4 toilets are available really, seemed adequate to me.

Fair enough, maybe we were just a thirsty bunch and needed to use the facilities more than usual!

Although, with PE using the front 2 toilets (which was the case on all 4 of my recent flights) I guess it's 4/66 so 1/16.5 and not great for UC that the ratio for PE and UC is the same.

I personally think that having all of the Lavatories in one place at Doors2 is actually more convenient. If for example the two J Class Lavs are occupied and the W Class Lavs aren't, you could simply pass through the curtain and use those without having to travel any real distance and risk someone else closer beating you to it. At the moment on the Airbus 346/333 you will have noticed fellow passengers queuing for the single Lav at Doors1 when the two at doors2 are free.

Having all of the lavs at doors2 also means that they never have to be locked while at the gate as is the case with the A333. You will never find that the J Class crew are struggling to deliver the service because of passengers passing through Galley1 at peak times and you will not have people queuing by your suites at the front of the J cabin as is currently the case with the Airbus 346/333.
