You can view your accounts online if you've set it up.

Amex is very helpful in telling you how much more you need to spend to trigger a bonus. I can't recall about the Black card as I'm working through the BA one at the moment.

Thanks Marshy, I think I might give them a call later this month and see how I am standing as I have managed to hit the £3000 bonus a few weeks ago and I know I should have a fair bit more spending in the next few months ... blooming extension and Christmas dwindleing my savings.
I just which everywhere took Amex as a lot of the building suppliers don't

I have created an excel spreadsheet to keep track of mine, copy and paste across monthly. note which transactions are amex and visa and then use a pivot table to work out how much I am up to on each card and use filter to exclude transactions which dont apply to the spend amounts. Bit geeky but I work in analytics 8-)

wow that is really organised .. and I thought I was good with my flying club binder lol.
can I ask which transactions would not apply .. I thought as long as it was amex it was good to go ?
also on your statement does it say which card was used for the purchases ?

Thanks

there are mix reports if they do or do not count but I have used my AMEX in the past to purchase travel money. It used to be really good via virgin moneycorp when they did 1 to 2 points per £ spend and then I got 2 points per £ from virgin amex. It used to be the case they didnt charge for using your amex but that changed recently so I have stopped using them . So long story short certain cash based transactions such as currency exchange are not meant to be included in your spend.

Don't forget, only AMEX spend counts towards PE & Companion bonuses.
Visa does not count towards the triggers.

Your Statement will differentiate AMEX & VISA separate. You will have AMEX transactions showing with the total & then the VISA transactions with the VISA total.

That's a shame as BA Amex does count currency exchanges as a valid transaction for the bonus. Which helps.

All good advice, so here's my two penn'orth - be careful about tracking your spend too closely. Well, more specifically over the course of a year say. You'll shock yourself and might need to see a doctor afterwards, and maybe some smelling salts to bring you round! :-O :-O

Yep I'm sure it's only Amex purchases ..

Can I ask if statement date will be the date that the account fee was added to the account ? ... Mine was added the 11th October but still no statement ?
I've paid the balance as I've gone so only the flights from last night on but I was just wanting to see how many miles I have gotten
