Just had my first VAblack statement ... 39000 miles and that's without the 8300 I have just gotten from our flights I booked the other day (guessing I missed the cut off as the transaction isn't on the statement)

Off to check my FC account balance now ..

I do love it when the miles are more important that the statement balance. Well done!

Ditto.

Funny thing for me, I've recently started churning and so referred hubby for Gold Amex and got a supplementary card for me since I do most of the spending. But he gets the statements, and the weekly balance emails that Amex send, and there's often a hint of surprise in his voice at the amount being spent. Sometimes even shock. I just tell him to shut up! Then I go pay it off like a responsible borrower. ;-)

John you're a bad influence....no one listen to him! (You're still in my bad books with the lamb!)

The miles soon rack up with the cards...I'm sure you love the feeling being miles rich....enjoy and burn the miles!!!!

great thanks ... I will hold off until then.
I am planning on boosting our flights which we took in September and can I also boost flights that I have booked but not flown yet ? these are for next October but I would rather boost while a promotion is on ?

Thanks

No, pre-boost flights and get the miles straight away, you can pay in advance to boost them, but you only get the miles once you have taken the flight and it will depend on if that is in the bonus period. They certainly won't be in the Jan one, but maybe one later in the year.

confused now (doesn't take much mind lol) does the actual fight date have to be within the bonus boost dates ? I thought I would get the bonus if I just paid to boost during the bonus dates ? Hope this makes sense

Hmmm - I thought that there was a date range that the flight had to be in, but maybe there isn't, I honestly can't remember.

I think I have done this in the past. I know with past flights, including rewards, you have to boost within 6 months of taking flights.

But I've also boosted on upcoming flights when there was a bonus, back in 2013 they did a 20% bonus on boost transactions before 12th December plus an extra 1000 miles, and I boosted for flights the following May. The 20% bonus posted to FC account within 72 hours of transaction, the remainder posted after my outbound flight, including the extra 1000 miles.

So, you still haven't told me about the lamb. Was it bad or summat?
