Hello all. Just wondering if anyone can recall whether there is typically another sale before Christmas? I'm pretty sure there usually is, but can't confirm either way.

Many thanks

Usually starts around the 21st, give or take a day or two. As always though, there's no guarantee it'll include a specific date, cabin or route.

Yeah, there are things called a sale, and other times when the price is much lower, and no mention of a sale.

Indeed, after a quick look I'd classify this as 'marketing'!

Dubai isn't low on everyone's list at all - we went last week for the cricket and the Grand Prix and the planes were full both ways.

I think they are priced to compete with Emirates et al - there are a LOT of planes flying between UK and DXB every day at the moment.

For me Dubai looks like the most cost effective way to earn TPs. I suspect VS's hand is forced somewhat in order to compete with Emirates as Nick said. Most searches I've made they tend to match.

Checked the "sale" prices today and I'm not impressed!!! Maybe better prices will come after Christmas, I've had some good deals post Xmas in the past.
I can only hope!

Each to their own I guess.

We had been watching some PE seats for MAN-MCO for next September for some time and they had been hovering between £1,400-£1,500 return per person, however the sale has brought this down to £1,200 return per person which we duly snapped up!

I also believe that is the case and every DXB flight I have been on has been full in both J and W so competition might exist but VS seem to be holding up their own on this route too.

That said the current VS 'sale' is not that much of an event so far.....maybe when BA go live with their sale we might see some price reductions across the board!

Currently BA has put up 13000 CW seats for Avios redemption over the next few weeks. I dare say we won't see a similar move by VS. The current advertised VS sale isn't showing good prices, but maybe as time progresses better prices will load.
