So far a good journey to London yesterday. A great stay at the radisson blu with an upgrade through club Carlson status and now on my first champagne of the day in a peaceful clubhouse. Only thing that hasn't gone our way was a car has hit the bollards at dtci so everyone is being sent to normal check in.

Also as mentioned in a previous post we decided on our Christmas jumpers for national Christmas jumper day!!

Have a great time and well done on the jumpers. We are flying Christmas Day to Barbados so deliberating if the order of the day is jumpers :-D .

And even better news I have just managed to get the wife upgraded to UC at very last minute. awesome service from Virgin today and I'm no longer in the dog house!! Merry Christmas and I'm sure there will be updates about the flight. Can't wait to try the 787 now.

6 hours gone, 2 trips to the deli counter, one late lunch. Wife has had nails and hair done. Numerous cocktails, beers, champagnes and of course redheads done. Still got at around 2 hours to go. For all those that ask the question how long is too long. Well this isn't!! More champagne please!!

I'm just happy you managed to facilitate the upgrade. I can assure you that Mr M would be equally relaxed at this time, but perhaps wouldn't have been alive enough to post a pic pre upgrade.

You only live once! I don't think my other half and I would be speaking though if I'd bagged UC and left him in PE ;-)

And I admire your stamina for the CH, we did about 6 hours or so last year. It was ace.

And now a bit of a sunnier wave from the slow lounge at Jnb.

The flight was excellent and the crew were really friendly. Managed to get a few hours sleep although I think the day's activities in the lounge healed that :-D

For anyone arriving at Jnb I would certainly reccomend the bidvest meet and greet service. They met us just after getting off the plane. Took us through the South African passport queue so we didn't have to join the back of international arrivals. Helped us with our luggage, re checked us in for our domestic flight and walked us through to departures. Very friendly professional service. If you have a tight transfer I would say it's very handy.

Couple of hours now to relax. Maybe get a shower. Top up with a couple of beers. Then off to Cape Town!
