I am aware that most of you already know how poor Virgin IT is but I found out something odd this weekend.

After seeing some great fairs on the VS website I was frustrated that I was getting errors when trying to book. On Calling VS they have told me (on more than one occasion) the front quote on VS website is not live and can be "a few days" out of date..... Really! I am a bit miffed that prices have changed or -" never existed" according to one girl on the phone.

You would think an Airline that is not exactly making massive profits would get its website prices spot on, seems not!

What route was it?

This may have been caused by BA's sale fare which Virgin (and a number of other carriers like LH and CX) silently matched. BA then pulled the fare leaving the other carriers scrambling to remove their versions of it too.

What fares did BA pull? The sale is on until Feb?

The price on the Virgin website always used to be up-to 5 hours 'out of date', not days... But when you went to book it would just come up with the real price, not an error.

I was pricing flights to Mco on Fri sat and sunday, it was only last night that the real prices were displayed.

The booking just kicks you back to the main screen with an error once you select the inbound flight, the Call centre could not see those prices at all.

In the end I managed to book a MPM faire I had to change my dates though... I thought you were supposed to save £30 for 3000 miles, I somehow saved almos t£200 per seat (if you believe the full price fair on the site)

I got a MPM for £408 where the full price is still showing as £600.

Some IJN8S4Z1 fares were pricing at £900. They were pulled on Saturday and replaced with a higher base fare that now prices at £1200.

Had the same problem. Was trying to book a trip to DEN priced at £393 for Y and each time I went to book it spat out an error and told to contact the call centre. The system is due to be updated in May with DL's booking system so one can only hope it will see the end of these problems.
