Can anyone help?

Going to lhr - lax premium economy in the summer holidays and got a price of £1200 each

Is this bad? Might it go down?

Usually go to florida so have no real idea what a good pe flight price is for summer holidays

thanks

I'd say for peak season on the west coast that's pretty decent.

As far as whether it'd go down or not, nobody can really say with much certainty but I'd factor in that there is currently a sale on with several airlines so I'd be surprised if it goes down much further. If you can be flexible with your dates you might find better but if not and you're quite restricted date-wise I'd say that's a good price. :)

Edit: I've just had a browse round on Google Flights and there do seem to be some dates in August going for just under £1100, so I'd say have a look round different dates if you can. (Wed 17th - 24th August is one example)

This year, did mid-August to late-August from LHR>SFO and LAX>LHR, PE using Miles & Money (37.5k miles) for 2 adults, 3 kids for just shy of £5k. The points were mostly free from other sources...

£1.2k for that route isn't far from the mark. I found being flexible on the dates can help a lot - a day or two here can save a considerable amount but often means you end up flying on Tues > Thurs... (Weekends are generally more expensive) - I use it as an excuse to stay a little longer :)
