Ex Dub help

Hi I have been reading several posts re ex dub flights for reduced fares however just looking for some clarification please.
What is the best way to go about booking if I do not want the London - Dublin route on my return and simply want to collect my bags from London. Perhaps someone would be so kind as to explain the best way of booking thanks

You still book it (otherwise the price will go up) but you book the London-Dublin leg either from a different airport (If you are arriving in LHR book it from LGW and vice versa) or alternatively just say at check-in that you wish to collect your bags at the London airport and re-check them yourself. Done it loads of times both ways and with no problems.
