Hi All,

Since I got back from Vegas in early November, I have been extremely busy and have hardly been at home.

When I did get home this evening, I decided to take a look for some flights for a trip we planned to take next year, partly around Mrs D's 50th birthday.

Using the ITA matrix, I quickly found some ex-DUB flights, at the end of May into early June for around 1430EUR which I was pretty happy with, coming in at around £1050 each for UC seats.

I kept looking for a bit later on and found a flight showing at 1200EUR

What a bargain! I quickly found the fare on expedia and booked it.

Total Price: £1,798.94

Now - any recommendations on seats? The system has automatically put is in row 6A/6K at the front of the plane. 7K is currently unavailable on the outbound flight and all seats open on the return.

Happy holidays everyone - mine just got a bit better!

For a couple 6A/K are the prime seats to have IMHO. The only downside is a lack of overhead locker space (it stops at row 7) so perhaps get on early and grab a locker spot, if the occupant of row 7 is a frequent flyer they will have left you some but there's no guarantee of that.

I agree. I will always choose the front if I can get it.
As to lockers, I go to the gate early in the hope of getting on first. This year several other couples had beat us to it but I still got a locker. A couple of years ago I just asked the cabin crew to stow it and they found somewhere. It's not a problem unless you want to keep accessing your bag in flight.
Congratulations on your bargain. You have paid the same as I did for up-gradable Economy including extra taxes for my trip to MCO and I've had to use 100,000 miles.
I need to learn about this ITA thing.

Congrats on bagging those flights at such a great price.... I had to pay just over £1533 for my ex-EU ones out of Brussels to LAS for March (but far better than the £3600+ from VS direct, so I'm still very happy)

By default Expedia/VS gave me 6A outward and return on the booking but I changed outward to 8A as I prefer a bit more space across the aisle going out but kept 6A for the return as prefer the lack of 'traffic' and less bar/galley noise on 6A or 6K for the return leg.
