Whoops I did it again! ;-)

Since reading mrsw's excellent trip report of her hikes round California http://v-flyer.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=291217 hubby was keen to explore a bit more ....

On Tuesday there were G's available on the VS023/024 to & from LAX in late March, which those very nice people at Flying Club put on hold for me whilst we checked leave availability and more importantly big son's availability to dog sit ....

On Wednesday son hadn't been able to confirm leave but then G's became available on the VS007/008 in May, so a quick call to Flying Club and the hold was switched .....

Son's availability has now been confirmed - California here we come again!!! :D  :D

Edited to say I've booked/selected/requested 3 & 4 A on the outward and 5 & 6A on the return - any pointers whether these are good or bad on the 787 would be appreciated please!

imho those seats are in the best bit of the UC cabin on that aircraft

the A seats are more private and have less traffic as it's the G/K ones that face each other across the aisle

rows 1/2 are a bit near the galley, 7 hasn't got a window, 9 upwards will be getting a bit near the bar

have a great trip!

Thank goodness you booked flights ScoobySu. When you said you'd had a "Britney moment" I had visions that you'd shaved all your hair off ;-)

Enjoy the Golden State

Woo excellent! If there's anything I can help with the itinerary, please just shout  .

Well done on grabbing the Gs and also booking the hotels already!

I've read that the A seats are good on the 787s, and to go with the middle of the cabin rather than front or back. Yet to try it out myself though - hopefully next June or September assuming VS doesn't switch all my future bookings to the dreaded A330!
